SHB2000, regarding your last change I've noticed on it:w that there are two different pages:

  1. w:Parco nazionale Jostedalsbreen (1.310 km²)
  2. w:Jostedalsbreen (487 km²)

According to the description (and the size) it seems that the second describe only the glacier that actually is included in the first one, relevant to the whole protected area.

Although I'm sure that a traveller goes there to see the glacier, I would say that technically both are correct, it depends on what a future editor is interested on. --Andyrom75 (discussioni) 00:07, 25 lug 2022 (CEST)[rispondi]

[@ Andyrom75] I see what you're talking about. When I was there four years ago, "Jostedalsbreen" usually referred to the entire park, not just the glacier. FWIW, both en:Jostedalsbreen and fr:Jostedalsbreen use the shorter names, but I don't know what the Italian Wikivoyage naming conventions are in regards to official/common name usage. @SHB2000 the naming convention in it:voy it's very easy, we reuse the exact "it:w name". So, as I was saying before, if the editor will write an article about the protected area, the right name is "Parco nazionale Jostedalsbreen", otherwise, if (s)he'll write about the glacier, the right name is "Jostedalsbreen". Right, but wouldn't it be more useful for travellers to know that Jostedalsbreen usually refers to the entire park? SHB2000 (discussioni) 09:27, 25 lug 2022 (CEST)[rispondi]
@SHB2000 This info is usually inserted in the top of the article. Let's take for example Ho Chi Minh (città). Nowadays is still called by many locals with the old "Saigon" name, or with the acronym "HCMC", but the article name is inline with it:w --Andyrom75 (discussioni) 09:34, 25 lug 2022 (CEST)[rispondi]
