Locorotondo

Locorotondo is an Italian municipality located in the province of Bari, Apulia.

History

Locorotondo was born thanks to Goffredo I who in 1100 added the Abbey of Santo Stefano di Monopoli to churches and farmhouses in of the surroundings including San Giorgio's church.

What can you see

• The Old Town Hall, seat of the municipality and later of the University;
• Palazzo Morelli; built in 1819 but re-built in 1970,seat of the Municipal Library;
• The Old town of Locorotondo with a circular plan.
• The Church of San Giorgio.
