Tourism in Locorotondo

Locorotondo, has acquired much notoriety, in recent years, in fact, is one of the major tourist centers of the Land of Trulli. It is connected to the rest of Apulia through the railway station of the Ferrovie del Sud Est and with the State Road 16 Adriatica and State Road 100.

Among the narrow streets of the ancient village reigns order, cleanliness and beauty, the latter due to the green plants and bright colors that brighten the windows and balconies with curved railings, not surprisingly, Locorotondo has won the "Bandiera Arancione" of the Italian Touring Club.

The hotel structures known in the area, are based on a new concept of tourism: the albergo diffuso.

The albergo diffuso is an accommodation facility located in different points within a historical centre, which allows tourists to get in touch with the territory and the surrounding population. Of great importance, there is also food and wine tourism, based on routes through the vineyards and olive trees of the valley you can taste the typical products of the place both in summer and winter / Christmas time.

The old town is animated by several bars and pubs (from cocktail bars and pubs that organize live evenings, events and DJ sets to typical inns where you can enjoy the local gastronomy). The cuisine in Locorotondo, is a rural and popular cuisine that follows the healthy principles of the Mediterranean diet.

Here, most of the restaurants propose earth dishes, which are cooked with raw materials and products at Km 0, coming from the lands and farms of the Valle d'Itria. Among the best restaurants, taverns and trattorias of Locorotondo we find: the "Braceria 140 Gradi" located on the Belvedere of the village, offers meat specialities and gourmet dishes and the "Ristorante Ai Tre Santi" in the heart of the old town, offers typical dishes of Locorotondo cuisine.
